Stacy Lewis: From early scoliosis hit a Rolex Player of the Year
When Stacy Lewis was struggling with scoliosis a decade ago, nobody would have thought he had the ability to hold a golf club, let alone become the player of the year.
Over16 years later, Lewis is higher than most of its peers in professional golf, as she fought spinal curvature resulting in a support belt in the back, and set foot on the golf course to start your career.
Lewis was diagnosed with a debilitating back problem at the age of 11 years.
American star made headlines these days, after being crowned the 2012 LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) season as the best player.
Lewis won the prestigious Rolex Player of the Year in 2012 largely thanks to its top 16-10, which also includes four tracks of the LPGA.
It is understandable that the award has brought back old memories.
The LPGA Tour recently caught up with Lewis and asked him what it was like to fight through the years and become the most influential player in women's golf.
"I think about 10 years ago when I remember sitting in the doctor's office and he told me that I would have back surgery," said Lewis, who turned pro in 2008 and is TODAY 'Today considered the most accomplished American golfer.
Lewis admitted that when she suffered from physical problems during adolescence, had been destroyed so that anyone else, and never thought about starting your career in golf.
"That was the moment, I mean, I thought I would never play golf again. Now, 10 years later, I'm here to win the player of the year. "
The road to success was probably more rock than most of their fans and admirers think, but Lewis is quick to point out that it took a stick right after, she was free of her corset.
"I think the reason I played golf, that's when I got out of my corset. I think I do more both sports when he left the corset is why I would leave the key "Lewis shared.
